July 14, 2024 – Charlotte Hornets President of Basketball Operations Jeff Peterson announced today the team has re-signed forward Miles Bridges. Per team policy, terms of the deal are not disclosed.
Bridges appeared in 69 games (67 starts) last season, recording career highs in points (21.0), field goals (8.1), 3-pointers (2.3), 2-pointers (5.8), defensive rebounds (6.3) and total rebounds (7.3). He was one of 13 players in the NBA to register at least 21.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game last year, and he led the Hornets in scoring a team-high 26 times while tying for the team lead with 19 double-doubles.
Bridges delivered a career-high 45 points, eight rebounds and seven assists vs. Toronto (Feb. 7), joining Kemba Walker as the only players in franchise history to post 45 points, five rebounds and five assists in a game. He tallied 30 points, 15 rebounds and five assists vs. Chicago (Jan. 31), becoming the first Hornet ever to meet those marks in a game.
For his career, Bridges has averaged 14.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 360 games (255 starts) over five seasons. He ranks eighth in franchise history in points (5,342), seventh in field goals (2,024), fifth in 3-pointers (591), third in 2-point percentage (.550), eighth in defensive rebounds (1,749) and 10th in minutes played (11,041).
The Hornets originally acquired Bridges in a draft night trade after he was selected in the first round (12th overall) of the 2018 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers
