Jahzara vs. Hillcrest

Sports & Culture Jr.

With a stunning 10-0 record over the past 5 seasons against the Hillcrest
Lady Rams, Jahzara (Zara) Leamon walks off the floor of Hillcrest’s gym with a
smile on her face. It’s easy to be this happy when you’ve averaged 20 points, 6
rebounds, and 4 steals to rack up these 10 wins with your teammates.

When asked about how she feels being so victorious in one of Greenville
County’s oldest rivalries, she said ‘’It feels great! l love playing at Hillcrest
because of their environment and having some of my greatest games there and
also continuing the old rivalry and being 10-0 against them’’.
Hillcrest always has the high energy from their die hard fans with a rowdy
student section, but Zara and her teammates were still able to score with
confidence and quiet the noise.

On Friday, Zara put up 20 points in 2 ½ quarters
then was subbed out to let her teammates take over and win the game 65-25.
This may have been the last time she played on Hillcrest’s court, but my sister’s
impact on this rivalry will always be remembered.
