Media Release

CLEMSON, S.C. — The No. 6 Clemson men’s soccer team hosts St. John’s on Thursday at Historic Riggs Field. Thursday’s season opener with the Red Storm is slated for 7 p.m. The match is set to stream on ACCNX

The Tigers come into the match on a 25-game unbeaten streak at Historic Riggs Field. The last time Head Coach Mike Noonan’s side suffered defeat on its home field was October 16, 2018.

Clemson and St. John’s have never squared off on the pitch, but the matchup is one between two of the most storied coaches in the college game. Noonan will be entering his 12th season as the Tigers’ gaffer and is tied for eighth on the active all-time wins list with 348 in his career. The Red Storm’s head coach Dr. Dave Masur will be entering his 31st season at the helm as the fifth all-time wins leader amongst active coaches with his mark of 427 victories.

Staring for the Tigers will be their four returning All-ACC selections in goalkeeper George Marks (3rd Team), defenders Justin Malou (3rd Team) and Oskar Agren (2nd Team), and midfielder Luis Felipe Fernandez Salvador (3rd Team).
